Working with Fractions
Fractions are just parts of a whole. When you're adding or subtracting fractions, the trick is getting them to have the same bottom number (denominator). That's called finding a common denominator.
For multiplying fractions, it's easy—just multiply the tops together and the bottoms together. If you get something like 2/8, simplify it to 1/4. For dividing, flip the second fraction and then multiply. So 1/2 ÷ 1/4 becomes 1/2 × 4/1, which equals 2.
The key is not panicking. Fractions follow rules just like regular numbers—once you know the rules, they're predictable.
